Kiefer scheduled the play’s tour to correspond with several of the stops on the Dalai Lama’s recent tour of the U.S., featuring performances in Central Park from September 23 to October 1. The play uses a blend of Tibetan and North American song, dance, puppetry, and cos- tuming. It is also a “walking play,” using outdoor space, such as a park, as its stage. Kiefer hopes to tour The Buddha Prince internationally and adds, “It’s one chal- lenge to be a practi- tioner and it’s another challenge to have your work be your practice, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Buddhadharma: The Practitioner’s Quarterly, ISSN 1499- 9927, published quarterly.
